Season Overview

The 2019 RROL NOMAD season is the first season of the RROL’s North-Atlantic Open-Wheel Modified Asphalt Division.

Faber Fabrication will exclusively supply the series chassis for the 2019 season - in the form of their Acromion model.

Format[edit | edit source]

A typical race week consists of a 30-minute practice session, a single-car two-lap qualifying session, and the concluding event of each race week is the approximately 100-mile race.

The fourth round at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway will differ from the typical format in that the 100-mile race has been split into two 50-mile races as a "double-header".

There is a maximum of 40 entries per race.

Nomad Knockout Cup[edit | edit source]

Shortly prior to the start of the season, RROL officials announced the NOMAD Knockout Cup, a tournament-style knockout cup, which drivers will compete for simultaneously along with the standard season-long tally-style points championship.

After the first 7 (of 12) rounds of the 2019 NOMAD season, 12 drivers will qualify for the Knockout Cup. These 12 drivers will be comprised of race-winners and the highest non-race-winners in the point standings.

Qualifying Heat includes all competitors and spans the first 7 rounds of the season. Race-winners are automatically locked into the first round of the Knockout Cup.

Knockout Heat 1 featuring 12 drivers takes place during rounds 8 and 9. An active knockout competitor that wins during this round automatically advances to the next round. 8 drivers will continue and the 4 lowest points-earners of the cup in races 8 and 9 will be knocked out.

Knockout Heat 2 8 drivers, rounds 10 and 11. Active knockout competitors that win advance to the final round. 4 drivers advance, 4 are eliminated.

The Final Heat is a battle between 4 drivers in the season finale @ Rockingham Speedway. The highest finisher of the 4 remaining Knockout Cup drivers in the race wins the NOMAD Knockout Cup.
