Dash Cup Driver

Stasya Katya Filipova, better known as Stasya Filipova (born January 6th, 1991 in Tolyatti, Samara Oblast, Russia) is a Formula Overdrive driver currently driving for Hannagan Enterprises. She is better known for her shocking win in Russia on her second career Dash Cup start. Following that victory she was a consistently strong driver, but would not win ever again in that series.

Beginnings[edit | edit source]

Stasya begun racing with karts rather late, being 15 years old, she raced with karts until she was 18, when she tried scattered Formula RUS events, but didn't succeded in any of her starts, being 19 she was scouted to Hannagan Enterprises, team owned by the irish former Formula A driver Patrick O'Hannagan, she drove with Hannagan in Touring Cars until 2014, when the team shifted to stock cars, making scattered starts in the 2014 Dash Cup season.

Dash Cup tenure[edit | edit source]

Filipova's first taste of stock car racing was at the Toddring where she qualified in the back for race 1, but was advancing through the field until she got caught up in a wreck. The same happened to her in the second race.

In France both Filipova and her teammate Giséle Vignon started in the back on races 1 and 2 and Filipova got wrecked on the opening laps of the first race, and finishing in the rear end of the field on race 2, in race 3, she and Vignon would make heroes of themselves, driving the wheels of their cars and finishing in the top 10 after holding up cars much stronger than the Hannagan's Kosovets.

At the prestigious Spa GP she was one of the 5 cars from Hannagan that qualified for the LCQ, but she didn't gone through.

In Russia, Filipova had a bad start in the first running of the race, being involved on the wreck that cancelled the race. In the second attempt to make the weekend, Stasya flipped in Race 1, in race 2 she was quiet, finishing second-to-last. On Race 3, the biggest upset in Dash Cup's history happened, as Stasya started in 2nd, behind Cassandra Collins, but Stasya quickly took the lead, and never looked back in order to win her first Dash Cup race in only her 8th start.

Following that, Stasya would be signed to drive the #7 for STS Racing, Inc., however, despite consistent results, she would not fight for wins, getting a 16th place in the final standings. A lack of space on that team after a merger with ATK Racing meant Filipova would become a free agent, eventually getting signed into the Altoros GP stable.

After two solid seasons with Altoros, however, no wins, Filipova turned her eyes back to open wheel racing and would join the reformed Formula Overdrive, returning to Hannagan Enterprises.
