Summary[edit | edit source]
Drew Eisenman won the pole but Tony Durbin passed him early in the race. On Lap 4, Ian Cooper hit Leonid Roderick and bounced into Rachel Rainsford. Cooper retired from the race. Sam Morel, who won the race in 2001, took second.
On Lap 15, Tom Delgado, Danny Savin, and Jerry Luther hit the wall after going three-wide. Craig Cross and Roderick were all involved. Anthony Evans, Matt Smith, and Paul Lyons were in an under yellow accident. Durbin dominated the race on the restart.
On Lap 19, Cyrus LaTerza hit Tyrone Stanley, who sent Kevin Colley into the wall. Also collected were Todd Bell, Danny Savin, and Brian Sendack. Cross barely made it through. Alexis Rainsford and Louis Kingston were fast as was Stuart Sandoval. Kingston passed Durbin on Lap 25. Yuliya Nosova eventually passed Durbin as well.
The next yellow flag was on Lap 32. Palmer Stiles and Johnnie Ada hit each other, but Damien Snyder hit the wall. Kingston was very fast. On Lap 36, Dale Roswell got hit by Rachel Rainsford, then Roswell got Sam Morel and Scott Bates involved. Late in the race, Nosova pitted due to engine failure.
Kingston led on the last lap, but was passed by Durbin coming to the stripe.
