Race Results |
The 2010 Texas 500 was the first race of the revived American Stock Car Championship, and the first Texas 500 since 1979. It was held at its traditional venue, the Texas World Speedway. Cyrus LaTerza, driving for Mitchell & Sons Racing, dominated the race, leading 198 of the 250 laps en route to victory over teammate Hawk Slider.
The race was disastrous in terms of competition, with the majority of the inexperienced and underfunded field running well off the pace of the Mitchell & Sons cars. There were eighteen cautions for accidents, as well as dozens of collisions in the pit lane.
