The 2011 150 Laps of Dwyer was held at the Dwyer Speedpark in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was the 11th race of the 2011 ARLA Elite Series season.
The race was extended 30 laps to increase the total distance to 720 miles. The change was made in honor of Benny Dwyer, the track's namesake. Like the 2011 Karjala Grand Prix, no driver was locked into the field, and all drivers, including full-timers, would have to go through qualifying.
One hundred twenty cars were entered into the event.

Qualifying procedure[edit | edit source]
A complex qualifying procedure was employed to determine the starting grid for the race.
- First, all cars would be placed into groups of 40 and would each have 30 minute qualifying sessions. Once all three qualifying sessions were completed, the times would be pooled and the best time would claim the Smash Beer Pole Award for the race. This driver would avoid having to race his/her way into the event.
- The driver with the second-best time would earn the other front row spot, and thus would also avoid the qualifying races.
- The remaining drivers would be placed into four pre-qualifying races, with the top 20 finishers in each race advancing to the main qualifying races.
- Those drivers that transferred to the main qualifiers would be placed according to their pre-qualifying race finish, with odd-numbered finishers in one race and even-numbered finishers in the other.
- The top 20 finishers from the two main qualifying races would earn starting spots in the 150 Laps of Dwyer main race.
Pole qualifying[edit | edit source]
Mumba Kumangu claimed the provisional pole about 30 minutes into the session with a time of 2:06.312. It held up until the final moments of the qualifying session, when Tom Delgado and Marcos Leonard, both TM Master Cup regulars, each set new pole times within seconds of each other.
Leonard, in the No. X/0 car, set a time of 2:06.290, which was good enough to claim the pole. His time beat Delgado's by 0.011 seconds.
