Pre-race storylines[edit | edit source]

A number of drivers were suspended for this race due to their antics at Darlington, including Laura Cyrus, Henrietta LaVerne III, and Mike Howard. Nicole Moreno filled in for Howard with Alex Graff and TM Master Cup regular Zach Duff replacing Cyrus and LaVerne respectively. Speculation was running rampant over whether or not Duff was auditioning for a ride with Xenos Development in that series here, as that team prefers Canadian drivers for its cars and Duff's contract with Volpi Racing Team is up at the end of the season.

Bruce Wilkinson was suspended from ARLA competition indefinitely after testing positive for heroin in a random drug test conducted by series officials. Zach Gott replaced Wilkinson in the #7 Gravity Racing, Inc. car for the remainder of the season.

Ricky Navarro started from the rear of the field for his race due to his penalty at Darlington incurred in the aftermath of an accident that injured Grease Burger Racing driver Phil Summers. Wyatt Dyers took over the No. 91 Velocity V2 for this race.

Race one[edit | edit source]

The start of the race was delayed 20 minutes so the track crews could clean candy off the track – the result of a ill-fated experiment in which the drivers tossed said candy to the crowd during the parade laps.

Raibeart Scott led the field to the green flag in race one, getting a sizable lead on the rest of the field. Though other teams cried foul over the start, Race Control ruled Scott's start to be clean.
