Prerace storylines[edit | edit source]
Scott Morales started in the rear of the field for the second race as a result of penalties incurred at Talladega.
OEN broadcaster Earl McDermott competed in the first of his races for Xenos Development.
Aaron Cruise took the wheel of the No. 100 Kivett in relief of usual driver Rachel Rainsford, who was unavailable due to her TM Master Cup commitments.
Race one[edit | edit source]
Joseph Howard took the pole for the race. Damien Snyder lost his engine as the green flag flew. Snyder went high, which allowed every car except CJ Cameron to get by him.
The first caution flew on Lap 56 as Jason Bates brushed the Turn 2 wall. Nami Mura went down a lane to avoid Bates and got turned by the No. 102 Kivett of Amy Harrison. Tyson Lautenschlager got into the back of Mura, but it was Kyle Eckerton in the No. 47 Xenos that did the most damage, getting into the side of the spinning Mura and sending her for several rolls down the Nellis Straightaway. Mura's car landed on Lautenschlager's, which didn't help matters. Mura would walk away from the wreck. Lautenschlager would also drop out of the race as a result of the incident.
Caution again flew over the track on Lap 63 when Lucas Sweeney drifted up into the No. 14 car of Bigsby Foote. Foote would spin down the backstretch and into Turn 3 where Bruce Wilkinson and Dan Mackay made contact. Mackay made subsequent contact with Jason Bates, spinning both cars. Eckerton would crash into the passenger door of the No. 10 car, sending himself and Mackay out of the running.
Under the yellow, both David Jarrett and Michael Madrigal lost their engines and would drop out.
Kevin Monroe led on the restart, with Howard and Flush in pursuit. Flush would get a run on Monroe coming out of Turn 4 toward the checkers, but didn't have enough as Monroe took the win.
Blake Camphausen brought his No. 046 Cromwell CS home in seventh place, marking his third top-10 finish in as many attempted races.

Race two[edit | edit source]
Gary DeSouza put his Gasnier on the pole for the second race of the evening. He would lead the first lap before being passed by Taylor Brillon.
Caution flew early on Lap 2 as Bob Stephans and Nico Petrov got together coming into the Nellis Straight, causing both cars to spin out. Scott Dalitz was also collected in the incident. All three drivers would continue on in the race as none of them hit anything.
Brillon led on the restart with DeSouza in tow. Ricky Navarro restarted third with Riggs Motorsports teammate Leslie Riggs in fourth.
Seven laps later, caution flew again as Jason Teller and Kayla Beisel got together on the front stretch, setting off a chain-reaction crash that collected several cars including Paul Lyons and Phillip Borland. Borland went airborne during the incident.
Brillon would hit the pit lane during the caution, handing the lead over to Navarro. Raibeart Scott would challenge Navarro for the lead in his Tutino, but Navarro would hold him off.
Armand Mitro and Cletus McGuffie got together on Lap 22, as Mitro spun McGuffie coming out of Turn 2. McGuffie would crash hard into the inside wall, putting him out of the race. Mitro was summoned to Race Control for this incident. (See Postrace penalties for his penalty.)
Brillon regained the lead after the majority of the field pitted (most of the cars that didn't pit on the last caution did this time).
Mitro didn't help himself any by almost punting Suiiju Dejao a short time later, but Dejao was able to save the car from spinning.
James West would cause the next caution on Lap 43 by getting spun out by Rip Tyler. The wreck would be almost identical to the incident on Lap 22 between Mitro and McGuffie, however West would run back up the track and collect Anthony Griffith and Dalitz, who also got damage in the Lap 9 accident. Hawk Slider, Beisel, and Makoto Yamada were also involved. Behind this, Scott Morales and Jared Andersen got together, sending Morales for a flip or two.
DeSouza regained the lead on the restart, but Navarro would chase him down. The two drivers would battle for a little while before DeSouza claimed the spot. This battle allowed Harry S. Enola and Riggs to catch up. Riggs would eventually catch and pass DeSouza to take the lead.
The fifth caution flew on Lap 66 as Jason Teller, Yamata, and Wesley Savage exchanged pleasantries. This marked the fourth consecutive race that Savage would fail to finish.
Riggs would lead on the restart with DeSouza and Libby Bell rounding out the top three.
Cautions, however, tend to breed cautions, which is what happened with nine laps to go. Brillon got into the back of Rachel Gonzalez and sent her around. Gonzalez didn't hit anything and continued on her way.
Riggs and DeSouza would break away from the field in the closing laps. However, any plans of a shoot-out between the two were laid to rest when Packer Carroll made contact with the Turn 1 wall, riding it along the backstretch. He got into several cars entering Turn 3, including teammate Eric Jackson and Edwin Schwarzloski. Carroll and crew chief Rush McCloud were both summoned to Race Control.
Riggs beat DeSouza back to the yellow flag, which allowed her to take the victory at a blistering 50 miles per hour.
