Officials prior to the race announced the 14 teams that would compete in the TM Master Cup series full-time in 2012. They were:
- DeGarmo Enterprises
- FLASH Racing
- James Dalton Racing
- Gessler Richter MC Team
- Hodges-Walter Racing
- Katzev Engineering
- Majestic Motorsports
- Mitchell & Sons Racing
- Power Steering Inc.
- Star Team Nemoto

Scuderia Tutino was deleted from the full-time grid, in spite of the organization's insistence that it has enough funding to finance a full-time run in 2012. The team's arguments will be heard after the Round of Quebec.
Dan Mullen did not provide the commentary for this round due to illness. OEN play-by-play announcer Scott Bush filled in.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Packer Carroll failed to take the green flag after experiencing mechanical problems with his Volpi.
Zach Duff and Chris Johaanes were involved in a pair of incidents, including one on the cool-down lap. Duff was summoned to the Steward's Office for that maneuver.
