The ARLA Elite Series came to Glendale, California for the inaugural race at Verdugo Raceway.

Prerace storylines[edit | edit source]
Four drivers started from the rear of the field for this race: Tyson Lautenschlager, Ricky Navarro, Lucas Hunter, and Leigh Gruell. They were all penalized following their actions at Mosport.
Cletus McGuffie was slapped with a six-race ban after failing a breath test after Mosport.
Due to the tightness of turn 3, officials announced that they would be stingy with the cautions in that corner.

- Andy Pearson – loss of 40 points for reckless driving, causing an avoidable collision involving the race leader
- Toby Armstrong – loss of one race on part-time schedule for reckless driving
- Anthony Griffith – loss of 27 points for causing an avoidable collision involving the race leader (illegal bump-and-run)
- Jacob Eichholtz – warning for reckless driving
