Championship Overview |
The 2012 TM Lights season is the current season of the TM Lights.
Preseason changes[edit | edit source]
Like the TM Master Cup Series, the TM Lights also experienced a number of changes for the 2012 season. Gone was the three-division format of 2011, as the series returned to a single-division roster. Also, in a revisiting of 2010 rules, the series would resume using a spec car for all entrants - for this season, the Bolden LTX-12 was selected.
Finally, the TM Lights added two additional wrinkles the Master Cup also adopted – the designation of the series champion as car No. 1 (Thurston Blood of Power Steering, Incorporated has the honors in 2012) and that drivers from the United Kingdom will also no longer race under the British flag, but will race under the flag of whichever part of the United Kingdom they are from. Thus, Blood will be listed as English, while Dermid Scott will be listed as Scottish.
Thirteen drivers make up this year's rookie class.
Schedule[edit | edit source]
Like in 2011, the season opened at the Las Vegas Autoring in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Many of the races are companion events with the Master Cup Series, and three events, at Carbondale Raceway, Piqua Fairgrounds, and Mosport International Raceway, are companion events with the ARLA Elite Series.

Team chart[edit | edit source]
As mentioned above, all cars in 2012 will run identical chassis: the Bolden LTX-12.
