The 2014 Dash Cup season was the 15th season of the Europe-based Dash Cup series. Hannah Percy won the championship, driving for Atlantic Motorsports.
Pre-Season Changes[edit | edit source]
The Dash Cup race weekend layout changed from a double header layout to a three race weekend, but instead of two different fields running the races, the same drivers attempted every race in the weekend. For race 1, a qualifying session determined the order of the starting grid, while for race 2, the field lined up in order of how they finished in race 1. However, for race 3, the results from race 2 were inverted, and the driver who started last started on pole and so on. Adding onto this, each driver only have a primary and a backup car.
Each team consisted of two full time cars, as well as a third car which could be entered for up to 4 rounds. With the schedule expected to be shortened to 15 races, as well as there being one over capacity race next season, the third cars would make a third of the races. The amount of full time slots available was capped at 30, which means that there was 15 teams appearing on a regular basis. Teams local to the track may also attempt a race as a one off, but they can be turned away.
A rookie class was introduced for the 2014 season. To be a rookie, a driver has to have competed in less than 6 races in the previous seasons combined.
The following car models were approved for the 2014 season:
- Calton-Morel Nova
- FIAM Cinque
- Isanni Mancer
- Kosovet Mantis
- Lycoia Interceptor
- Méprise Chatte
- SMC Braun
