Championship Overview |
The 2014 National Racing Championship season is the upcoming season for the National Racing Championship.
Preseason changes[edit | edit source]
The series was initially expected to move to new cars that would closely resemble asphalt late models, and to drop the chassis limit from 2013. Preparations began for this move before officials instead decided to adopt Omecha's new low-cost spec car, the M14. However, the series will not supply a spec engine, as teams will receive engines from their own providers, and customized cosmetic specifications will be permitted.
Race schedule[edit | edit source]
Notable changes[edit | edit source]
- Carbondale Raceway will not return as the season opener and rumors are may not return at all.
- Ohio Motor Speedway will not return due to poor ratings.
- Atlanta Motor Speedway takes Carbondale Raceway's slot as the season opener.
- Albuquerque Speedbowl is added to the schedule taking up three rounds. The rounds will all take place in the same race weekend; the first two will act as heats, with the top fourteen finishers from each event advancing to the third event. All three races will be worth full points.
