Championship Overview |
The 2018 AST Volston Super Trucks season was the fifth season of the AST Voltson Super Trucks; a lower-budget, semi-professional auto racing series that utilizes pickup trucks with V6 engines primarily on short tracks across the Great Lakes Basin region of North America.
Iowa native Alex Phillips earned the championship while driving the #07 Saar for Griffith Motorsports. To date, Phillips is the only driver to have won the title as a Super Trucks rookie. Prior to the beginning of the season, he had made only one previous start.
Schedule[edit | edit source]
After hosting the series for two consecutive years, the race at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds was not retained on the schedule. This brought the schedule down to nine races, which took place at the same nine venues that made up the calendar for Season 1 in 2014.
