Frank Lawrence Racing is a TM Master Cup team, originally known as the American Launch Energy Racing Team, or ALERT for short. ALERT was formed in 2013 after Launch Energy purchased the assets of FLASH Racing, and continued to operate as the official Inglesby factory team. FLASH co-founders Frank Lawrence and Adam Samson continued to operate ALERT until Samson moved on to run Lenard International for 2014.
The team had a highly polarizing first season; Michael Sykes, in his final season as a driver, won two races and captured the championship over Mathias Taube and Zelda Ashby, while Chris Davenport had an incident-filled season, though he did get a surprise win at Grand Detour.
For 2014, Davenport moved on to Mitchell & Sons Racing, while Sykes was hired as Launch's Director of Motorsport, overseeing Launch's various racing interests around the world. Stepping into the drivers' seats would be Chris Johaanes and Scott Steudler, moving over from the underwhelming Manticore Engineering outfit. Steudler followed up on his lone 2009 victory in Argentina while Johaanes went winless, with the duo finishing 16th and 24th in the standings, respectively.
Launch later departed the team, resulting in funding issues going forward as Frank Lawrence assumed full ownership. In 2019, with Lawrence struggling to find sponsorship for the upcoming season, Packer Carroll, owner of Gravity Racing, Inc., purchased a 50% ownership stake in the team and was signed to drive for the team full-time. The team was subsequently renamed to Lawrence Gravity Racing.
