TM Lights Driver |
—Brooke Ingwersen, in an interview. |
Brooke Ingwersen (born February 17, 1990 in Little Rock, Arkansas) is an American race car driver who drove as part of Lenard's development team in the TM Lights series in 2011.
Though she couldn't find a ride in 2012, Ingwersen was hired as a mid-season replacement for Matthews Motorsports. She signed a full-season deal with the team in 2013.
Racing history[edit | edit source]
2010[edit | edit source]
Ingwersen started the season in Champ Car Pacific, driving for Steve Clayton Motorsports before losing her drive to the better-funded Hadar Goldstein with just three races left in the championship. A disgusted Ingwersen let her frustrations go public, and despite actively pursuing a regular drive, nothing came up.
In came the remnants of JC Racing, which quickly signed up Ingwersen to run some races for their TM Junior Series program in the #001 car. She ran very strongly in all of her appearances and was offered a drive by Don McKinney to drive for the Lenard Development Team in TM Lights, where she drive the #9 car in the south division.
2011[edit | edit source]
Ingwersen proved her worth in stock cars, proving her worth in the TM Lights South division. She scored a win in the chaotic semifinal event in Brazil which saw several cautions and lapped cars interfere. She ended the championship a respectable 9th in points. After learning that the team would leave for the ASCC for the 2012 season, she left the Lenard Development Team and was unable to secure a drive for the 2012 campaign despite being considered for a drive with the Lynxe Women's Team.
2012[edit | edit source]
Ingwersen took up drag racing for the 2012 season before getting called up mid-season by Matthews Motorsports to replace the struggling Tiffany Matthews. Ingwersen happily took up the chance to return to the TM Lights series and made her first start at Road America, where she finished 15th. Ingwersen noted that she had not had the chance to test the Bolden LTX12 at all, and downplayed some expectations of a strong return to the series.
2013[edit | edit source]
Ingwersen was retained by Matthews Motorsports for the 2013 season. She will reunite with Lenard as the team is switching to that manufacturer from Bolden.
