Chaud Roddick
Chaud Roddick is a former Formula B and Formula Overdrive competetor and race winner. While having a drive lined up with TrentGP for 2013, he suffered injury in the Hanmore World Championships and was unable to start the season, losing the ride.
Hanmore World Championships[edit | edit source]
Roddick went into the Hanmore World Championships with high hopes, and his speed backed it up. He ran quietly in the early portion of the race, leading a few laps. After an incident caused by Allyson Wetherbee brought out a caution, Roddick and Greg Woodard, who were running first and second, dove into the pits. This would give them the lead back on the restart, Woodard leading Roddick. On the restart, Allyson Wetherbee would hold up Roddick, and when Roddick would go to pass, Dieter Hallenstein hooked him and spun him into the inside wall. He then shot back up the track into the outside wall and another car, going airborne. Roddick would get tossed around and get hit many more times.
Roddick was knocked unconscious from the wreck, and was transported to a local hospital. He suffered from a fractured vertebrae, leg injuries, a broken wrist, and a puncture in his side from Rush McCloud's car. It was later announced that his recovery would last too long for him to return to the cockpit in time for the 2013 Formula Overdrive season, and was replaced.
Roddick announced his intent to return to Formula Overdrive in 2014.
