TM Master Cup Series Driver |
Dalton Johnson (Born October 3, 1988 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a former TM Master Cup driver who competed for Flare Motorsports with Team Thunder in 2007 and with Team Thunder in 2008. Despite making an amazing 17 attempts at TM Master Cup races between the two years, he never qualified for a single race and was promptly sacked by the team at the end of the 2008 season. He hads not been seen since, but had been linked to a possible return in 2013 with a TTE factory effort. These rumors, however, dissipated almost as soon as they began, but all was not lost when he came back to attempt the 2013 Round of Quincy with his own team, and failed to make the 110%, becoming the first person to do so. He received several more Promoter's Options over the next two seasons, failing to qualify for all of them. Journeyman driver Eric Jackson stepped into the seat for a few races, and managed to qualify for the 2013 Round of British Columbia, only to wreck the car in morning warmups.
Johnson finally made his first start in the 2014 Round of Ohio, running well off the pace, but successfully finishing the race.
