Birth of Dangerous Dog Racing[edit | edit source]
The birth of Dangerous Dog Racing in a semi-professional racing series began in 2009, when Jeff Lautenschlager bought 6 trucks and hired a crew chief, spotter and 4 over the wall crew members and a driver - Coleman Levonne.
ARLA Thunder Trucks[edit | edit source]
The DDR team ran the full ARLA Thunder Trucks season in 2009, but struggled, Levonne failed to qualify at race 1, and struggled in race 2 and was released. Quickly, the team hired Shosi Vocancam, a Skidoo Snocross champion from Uzbekistan.
In 2010, Vocancam returned after a difficult 2009 year, and 2010 was no different. Vocancam was involved in a lot of wrecks, many of which, were of his own doing. Lautenschlager politely told him after race 7, that he should start looking for a ride in 2011 which did not come to happen.
Despite troubles in 2009 and 2010, DDR has decided to try a two-truck team with rookie driver Jade Bowyer who drove the teams street stock in 2010 and another rookie Kalvin Oreiller who would pilot the 91 while Bowyer was in the 89. The 2011 season has started very well for the team. Kalvin Oreiller finished 12th in race 1 with Bowyer 18th.
When the team moved up to the Elite Series full-time in 2012, they suspended their Truck organization. Oreiller moved to the Elite Series with DDR but Bowyer was left without a ride.
ARLA Elite Series[edit | edit source]
In 2011, Jeff Lautenschlager is doing a lot to kickstart his team in the right direction. A successful 2-truck operation in ATT and now a part-time car for his cousin, Kayla Beisel in the AES. The season for the Elites hasn't started as well as the Thunder Truck side of things. Beisel made her debut in the 672 car at Las Vegas, but was involved in a crash, not of her doing.
In 2012, Kalvin Oreiller drove the 672 after Beisel decided to step out. Oreiller ran very well throughout the year scoring many top 10 finishes. Oreiler even scored a 2nd place finish midway through the season. He was also fairly anonymous on the track. For most of the season he was running inside the top 10 in points or just outside. After being parked by Karl Inc, Racing, after the Tokyo round, Tyson Lautenschlager was left rideless until the final race of the season at Rockford Speedway. He drove for DDR and even qualified after the first heat.
DDR will return to ARLA in 2013 part-time with Kalvin Oreiller and Montana Mosehez running the Mexican races. They plan on running Oreiller in the TM Lights full-time.
CRL Modified Division[edit | edit source]
DDR has had a somewhat confusing past in the CRL. In 2009, they started out with a merge with Holex Racing, forming, Holex-Lautenschlager racing which fielded, the 1 of Montana Mosehez (DDR Car), the 01 of multiple drivers (DDR Car), the 27 of Holden Roberts (Holex car), and the 37 of Alex Nezscmery (Holex Car). Montana Mosehez got the DDR side of things a win at Martinsville Speedway and then Neszcmery won the following race.
2010 had rumours floating that the alliance was over, but this was not true. The team didn't have the success they had in 2009 so the alliance was over for 2011.
In the 2011 season, DDR hired Pierre Duval to drive the #1 car, making him the only Haitian driver to run in the series and he did well. The #01 also had a new driver. Hamilton Porteau. The brother of the 2010 ARLA champ, Bobby. Hamilton did well enough to earn Dangerous Dog Racing their second win at Portland.
The DDR team did return in 2012 with Montana Mosehez driving their #1 car again but they have already decided they would not return in 2013 due to lack of funding ending their 4 year foray in CRL.
TM Master Cup Series[edit | edit source]
In 2011, Dangerous Dog Racing entered two cars into Round 7 for the Karjala Grand Prix which is one the "one-off" races for the series. They entered the #93 of Tyson Lautenschlager and the #591 of Kalvin Oreiller. The TMMC officials reviewed the entries, one got in, one denied. Lautenschlager got his entry accepted. Lautenschlager unfortunately did not qualify.
TM Lights[edit | edit source]
The Dangerous Dog Racing team is expanding out into the TM Lights Series for 2013 with driver Kalvin Oreiller. The team feels that since joining their organization in 2011, Oreiller has done a good job in driving and getting experience so with funding from Poynt and Workload Hard Working Footwear. The team is excited to be making the move with Oreiller. The hopes are for a successful 2013 season and possibly an Independents Trophy run in 2014.
