Derrike Chaiter
Derrike Evanson Chaiter, a 27 year old Australian road racer with one road racer title to his name, and a few wins and now races in the world renound TMMC championship with Delgado-Degarmo Enterprises.
Early Life Derrike was born in Brookfield, Australia, a small town right outside of Brisbane with two brothers and three sisters. Naturally, he was the second son, so he would not inherit his legend of a father's name.
From an early age, Chaiter had an investment in the ever present divisions of race genres. Living near race central Brisbane, he immediately grew to the knowledge and ideal for wanting to race from the earliest age of 5.
At age seven, his growing love for the sport allowed him, his father, touring car legend David Lee Chaiter. His father enrolled him in the youngster go-karting championship that took place near where he lived. The now eight-year-old Chaiter immediately got a feel for racing and would win a number of races against 8-10 opponents on 5 different go-karting plazas near his household. At age fifteen, after continually progressing in his gift at racing, an official from the Australian Touring Championship saw his gift and enrolled him as a juniour part-timer. He truly began to shine as he stunned crowds on his debut qualifying fourth, and finishing in second.
The man who enrolled him, Breggium Antutonnen had his own team, and after Chaiter turned seventeen and continued to excel, he rewarded him with his third car in the team 'Master Sport Australia.'
On his debut season, he had a knack for being involved in wrecks he indirectly caused. After many trials and tribulations, Chaiter was awarded the 'Rookie of the Year' championship title. He would return to the series the next year, and would win his first race.
