This is not to be confused with the Twin Race Format.

A Doubleheader Event is for races where there isn't enough room in the paddock for a full field, or when lapped cars will be a factor. It is rarely used.

How it works[edit | edit source]

Limited Space[edit | edit source]

At the 2007 Round of Russia there wasn't enough room in the paddock for a full field, it was split between 1-21 and 22-42 in points, the latter will start the first half of the race, whereas the former will start the second half. Points will be awarded the same as it was a full field, so there will still be one winner.

At the 2012 Dash Cup GP of Monaco, The top 15 drivers in points would be placed in the first race, with the rest of the drivers being placed into the second race. Officials allowed for a "winner's provisional" in which any race winner placed into the second race could opt to move up to Race 1.

Superspeedways[edit | edit source]

This format is rarely used, but it seen some action in both the TM Master Cup and ARLA at least once. At the halfway mark of the race, cars that are more than a lap down or severely damaged cars are out of the event, and cars that have cosmetic damage will be repaired. This format was used to keep slow cars from disrupting the lead pack.
