Faber Fabrication
Faber Fabrication is an American chassis manufacturer and fabricator, specializing in asphalt open wheel modifieds. The company is headquartered in Schenectady, New York.
Origin[edit | edit source]
Founded by Cecil Faber in 1977, Faber Fabrication served as a freelance fabricator and chassis manufacturer of asphalt late models and asphalt open wheel modifieds. Until about 1989, Faber served the needs of clients exclusively from a warehouse on the outskirts of Schenectady, New York. In 1994, Faber released their first trademarked open-wheel modified chassis, the Faber Trochanter (pronounced tro-canter). The Trochanter was a major success for the company, which expanded in 1997, adding another production facility in Piscataway, Maryland.
Recent Developments[edit | edit source]
After a 20 year run, in 2014, Faber announced the company would no longer produce the Trochanter model and in the same announcement unveiled the Faber Acromion model.
In early 2019, Faber and the RROL Foundation reached an agreement for the Acromion model to be the official chassis of their North-Atlantic Open-Wheel Modified Asphalt Division (NOMAD).
