Indianapolis Motor Speedway
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a 2.5-mile quad-oval built in 1909. It is one of the crown jewels of auto racing, playing host to the Indianapolis 500 every year. The TM Master Cup Series annually holds races here, and was the season opener from 1979 until 1987. The ARLA Elite Series also raced here until 2009. It also has an infield road course which is used for Formula A, Moto GP, and Sports Car races. On the speedway grounds there is a museum, a hotel, and a golf course. It held two Formula Overdrive races in 2008, one using the oval and the other using the Road Course.
TM Master Cup[edit | edit source]
This is the home race for most of the TM Master Cup Series teams, the Round of Indianapolis, since a majority of them are located in or around Indianapolis. As a result the race is a highlight for most of the drivers and teams.
ARLA Elite Series[edit | edit source]
In 2008, the “Chronic Bridesmaid” Nakano Satasumi finally won his lone ARLA Elite Series race.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
