Leckliter Racing is an American racing team that fields entries in several series, including the ARLA Elite Series, TM Master Cup, CRL Modifieds, and Formula Overdrive.
They have used their own engines since 2008, but didn't have an official name until 2010 when it debuted for the 2010 Round of Australia, as the Clezl V8.
History[edit | edit source]
Leckliter Racing was formed back in 1975 by John Leckliter as a short track team that specialized in dirt, collecting multiple wins in multiple tracks in western New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania. The team never experienced the asphalt racing surface until 2005, and didn't get started in any of the major series until 2008 when Daniel Leckliter started in the TM Master Cup Series.
Daniel took full ownership of the team in 2011.
TM Master Cup Series[edit | edit source]
2008[edit | edit source]
The team entered the series full time in 2008 running only one car, the #62 Sunoco Lenard driven by Daniel Leckliter. They made their first start at Daytona, where Leckliter finished 7th after avoiding a last lap wreck in the first qualifying race to make it in after running in the back for most of the race. In the main race he led a few laps towards the end and finished 10th. Aside from a surprise 3rd place at Spa, the rest of the season was nothing special.
2009[edit | edit source]
The Master Cup side of the team closed in 2009 when Leckliter went to drive for Camelot Racing. After a terrible season there, he returned in 2010.
2010[edit | edit source]
The team was slated to run for the Independent's Trophy but the team withdrew due to funding. Leckliter only ran one race, the Round of Australia, running a car promoting Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Had they ran the rest of the scheduled races, they would have ran a car promoting Pokemon Black and White, but because of the team withdrawing from the series, Pokemon withdrew sponsorship.
2011[edit | edit source]
They didn't compete in the 2011 season due to funding.
2012[edit | edit source]
Leckliter Racing made a return to the series with another Independents Trophy bid driving the number 110 Yellow Trucking Lycoia Brute. Despite finishing fifth twice at Michigan and Grand Detour, Leckliter failed to win the Independents Trophy.
2013[edit | edit source]
After the high of 2012, it all came crashing down in 2013 where Leckliter would fail to score any points in his first three races. He would finally score points in Ohio, where he finished 11th. He would also finish 11th at Quincy as well. Despite leading the Independents Trophy points for a bit, he would finish fourth.

Leckliter Racing would throw their hat in the TM Junior Series ring with Scott Morales. They had a terrible season.
ARLA Elite Series[edit | edit source]
2011[edit | edit source]
The team would attempt the Dwyer Endurance race with Chris Winter at the wheel, where he's fail to qualify. He, along with team owner Daniel Leckliter, would also attempt the Rockford 200, where Chris would once again fail to qualify and Daniel making it into the main race and finishing 15th.
2012[edit | edit source]
They entered the number 056 Atten-Hut Military Surplus Lenard driven by Chris Winter and Lucas Flint.
Leckliter himself would enter the over-capacity races at IRP and Rockford, finishing 10th at IRP and getting wrecked out at Rockford.

2010[edit | edit source]
Leckliter Racing would start up a at the time RROL Elite Series team with Kenny Morales at the wheel. While the team did miss quite a few races, Kenny scored a few poles and a top 5 at Brands Hatch.
2011[edit | edit source]
Like last year, the season started off rough for the team, but after a win at Brands Hatch, they were practically locked in for the rest of the season. They would end up finishing 10th in points after the series collapsed after Motegi.
Daniel Leckliter was supposed to run the over-capacity event at Clairmont, but the series folded before that race happened.
