TM Master Cup Series Driver |
Ryan Nawrocki is a Polish racecar driver who is a citizen of America. He is a former TM Master Cup Series driver (he is banned from all TM Series) and current VSCC driver.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Nawrocki was born in Warsaw, Poland on September 29, 1971. When in his teens, he moved for Fort Wayne, Indiana. Nawrocki, along his brother Collin Reed, showed an interest in racing at an early age, and began their racing careers in their teens.
TM Master Cup Series[edit | edit source]
In late 2006 before Alberta, Ian Cooper was released from his contract with National Racing. Ryan Nawrocki replaced Cooper for one race (George Dennis drove the car in the other race Cooper missed. Nawrocki performed well enough that Peter Keyes and Dennis Keyes, the brothers that own the team, gave him a ride in Cooper's old #3 car. He performed very well, winning at the Delano Superspeedway. He was in contention for the championship, but his limited skills at road racing hurt his chances. He had a very good year in 2008. He won the race at the Grand Detour of Southern Illinois on his way to another top ten points finish. 2009 was very hard, and when National Racing announced it would downsize from six cars to four cars, Nawrocki lost his ride. He had a ride lined up for 2010, but this fell throught.
Downfall[edit | edit source]
At the Alberta Superspeedway, which was then called the Canadian Blue Ridge, Nawrocki was running in the mid field, right behind Alexis Rainsford, the rival of Nawrocki's teammate Tony Durbin. While Rainsford pitted, Nawrocki followed but did not slow down at all and hit the back of Rainsford at almost 200MPH. Rainsford spun into the pit wall and was out of the race. It appeared that he did it to ensure his teammate would win the title, but also that he acted alone. Peter Keyes and Dennis Keyes denied any involvement. Then, Damien Snyder issued a statement saying that Nawrocki had in fact been, in effect, sabotoging the career of Justin Brooks and Paul Lyons in 2008 and 2009 and also made everyone clear of his plans. He was banned for life from all TM Series, which he is still trying to overturn. In 2011 Nawrocki admitted to causing the accident. He dropped his lawsuit, personally apologized to Alexis Rainsford, Peter Keyes, and Dennis Keyes, and filed for reinstatement.
RROL and VSCC Career[edit | edit source]
He was not banned from the RROL, and soon White Mountain Motorsports hired his to drive the #60 Oldhausen Billiards Saar. After a rough opening few races, he ran very well the end of the season, winning at Martinsville Speedway. He was not heard from in the paddock since the VSCC went defunct in 2011.
