Vinny Fuoco-Sato is an American auto racing driver from Novi, Michigan.
Fuoco-Sato has never raced cars professionally, but he has participated in the Apex Racing Sportsman Series.
Auto Racing[edit | edit source]
Fuoco-Sato and his family own two former FARC Elite Series chassis that they maintain in their garage. The cars were originally built by Focus Autosports for the 2016 season of Elite Series competition.
After having bought the first of these cars, upgraded the motor, and repainted the body, Fuoco-Sato drove in all but three of the twenty races that comprised the inaugural season of the Apex Racing Sportsman Series. He scored seven race victories and secured the championship by a slim seven-point margin over competitor Ruby Regal.
The following season saw Fuoco-Sato return to attempt every race on the calendar. He would win his second consecutive title after taking victory in 20 of the 29 races.
Fuoco-Sato returned to the series once more for Season 3. Having earned enough prize money by this point to buy a second car, he would bring two cars to compete at both of the race meetings in Daytona Beach, Florida; one to be driven by himself, and the other by personal friend Wild Cat Cortez. Fuoco-Sato scored 14 victories throughout the season but would fail to win the title, ultimately ranking second in the championship standings.
Personal[edit | edit source]
Fuoco-Sato's paternal grandparents were born in Italy, while his maternal grandparents were born in Japan.
Fuoco-Sato has been employed as a pizza delivery driver for many years, and uses savings from his paychecks and tips to help to maintain his race car and cover travel expenses.
