About[edit | edit source]
Yannick was born in Bordeaux, France on February 11th, 1986. His father Raul was an employee at the local train yard, while his mom Julie was a secretary at a realty company. Yannick is a big supporter of the Girondins de Bordeaux association football team.
Racing Career[edit | edit source]
Yannick got started in Karts at the age of 13 when a friend named Monte LaFollette needed a teammate. Most of Yannick's early support came from his mom's employer, a major realty company in the area. After five successful years in karts, he moved up to French F3 with Galaxy AutoTec. The team ran mostly in the upper mid-pack. Dubois ran five years of French F3 and evens scored a pair of victories at Nogaro and Croix-en-Ternois, but late in 2008 Galaxy AutoTec lost their main sponsor and DuBois would be out of a ride. Dubois got a call from his old friend Monte La Follette to run with him in American Sports Car racing with a GT prepared Lenard. This has been DuBois' most successful racing venture to date as he has won 11 GT races over a span of three years and was able to secure a personal sponsor in Blancpain, a Swiss watchmaking company. This brought his name to the attention of Duane Torkle. Torkle had bought a VSCC team and was looking for drivers. He signed DuBois and Dubois made his debut at Mallory Park. Dubois ran three more races at EuroSpeedway, Spa [Where he wasn't able to start the race because of a mechnical issue on the grid] and Motegi. Unfortunately after Motegi, the VSCC shut down and Torkle shut the team down. DuBois went back to GT Racing where he ran with LaFollette, but he was then sent an offer to drive in the Dash Cup for Team Europa.
