Pre-race storylines[edit | edit source]

Camelot Racing announced before the race that it would depart the TM Master Cup Series after the season in favor of an ASCC run in 2012.

AJ Young was booted from the No. 42 Tutino after first practice for causing a number of incidents. Stuart Sandoval took over the car for this race. It is also believed that Young has been stripped of his Master Cup license as a result, since he had already caused several incidents in practice for the previous race at Road America.

It was reported that Adrien Devereux was selling T-shirts in his merchandise hauler which stated 2011 Road America Winner on them. (Mike Whitmore was the official winner of the event.)
