FARC National Series Driver

Alex Carson (born November 14, 1975 in Kokomo, Indiana) is an American race car driver who competes in the ARLA Elite Series. He currently drives the #93 car full-time for Pearson/Sweeney Motorsports. He was formerly a driver in the ARLA Thunder Trucks Series where he holds two championships.

Early Career[edit | edit source]

Carson began his racing career driving for his family-owned ARLA Thunder Trucks team in 2000. The decision to start in Trucks right off the bat seemed very questionable, as Carson crashed often. However, Carson eventually stopped crashing and started contending for victories after three seasons.

Carson was hired to drive Paul Sweeney's truck in 2004, and he captured the 2005 and 2006 ARLA Truck championships. This prompted Sweeney to move Carson up to the ARLA Elite Series in 2007.

ARLA Elite Series Career[edit | edit source]

Carson looked to be very fast in his rookie season with SweeneySport; he won at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in what would be the final victory for Paul Sweeney as the owner of his own team. After that season, SweeneySport as a whole deteriorated, and eventually merged with Andy Pearson's team. Carson was kept after the merge, but his pace has been mediocre at best ever since, despite a win in the caution-free race at Joliet in 2009.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Carson is good friends with teammate Lucas Sweeney. Carson claims, "I had to get to know the guy who took my truck", referencing the fact that Sweeney replaced Carson at his father's Truck team after Carson left for the Elite Series.

Carson has openly bragged about his sizable female fan base and his frequent, for the lack of a better term, "romantic" endeavors. It is known that he has even courted his fellow female drivers, but with no success so far.
