—Alie Riggs, after any major collision.

Allison Loraine Fenton-Riggs (born May 23, 1990), better known as Allie Riggs, is an American race car driver and the youngest of the Riggs racing family, also consisting of her older sister Leslie Riggs and mother Brenda Riggs, as well as a cousin to Kerry Fenton. Riggs has most prominently raced in the FARC Lowe Dollar Series from 2008 to 2017, along with competing part-time in the TM Master Cup Series from 2008 to 2011. She currently competes in the Voltroxx Mudstars dirt late model series.

Allie is most known for her extremely aggressive driving style and short temper.

Early career[edit | edit source]

Riggs began racing karts at the age of 6, in the same club as her sister. She immediately displayed her trademark aggression, unafraid to make contact with opponents and pick fights. Riggs is very proud of one fight in particular; when she was 7, she had an altercation with fellow future ARLA driver Scott Dalitz, who is 4 years older than her, after he spun her out. She supposedly yanked Dalitz off of his kart and beat him with her helmet, which she is more than happy to display as a trophy.

Riggs was ultimately banned from the club due to her behavior. She started racing again at the age of 14, driving for the street stock operation her mother owned in place of Leslie who had departed for ARLA. Riggs kept her behavior somewhat in check, and consistently finished in the top 10. She was often outpaced by her mother, but still managed to win several races.

Early ARLA/Master Cup career[edit | edit source]

Riggs, now 17, was called up to the ARLA Elite Series, joining her sister at Chris Jackson's team. Riggs won in her third start at Charlotte, and scored another win at Langhorne.

In 2009, Riggs was surprisingly hired by Flare Motorsports to drive the #29 Lenard in the TM Master Cup Series. However, she failed to qualify for several races after an accident in the Daytona qualifiers with Scott Dalitz, who had apparently entered the race with a massive grudge against Riggs.

Despite finishing in the top 10 at the controversy-plagued Round of Texas, Riggs' contract with Flare was terminated coming into the Round of Quincy, leaving her with only the ARLA ride at the Jackson team. This infuriated Riggs, and she supposedly holds a grudge against team owner Don McKinney and Lenard to this day.

Riggs' 2009 and 2010 seasons were very dismal. When she got held up by slower cars during the 2009 New York Race, she went on an outrage on her radio non-stop as she got taken out of contention for the win. After officials heard her radio communications when the race was over, she was removed from her ride for the rest of the season, with Rachel Rainsford taking her place, but she still returned to the team the following year. After the Appleton Speedway Fright Night in 2010, she was parked by her team, which by then was owned by her mother under the Riggs Motorsports banner, after wrecking her sister Leslie. She did not race in the final two events of the season, but she was put back in her car for the 2011 season.

That year, Riggs experienced a resurgence, winning 3 races (including the 150 Laps of Dwyer) and finishing second in the points standings. Allie also returned to the Master Cup series to compete for the Independent's Trophy, in a car fielded by an alliance between Riggs Motorsports and M&J Racing. She finished second in the Independent's standings as well, to Palmer Stiles.

In 2012, Allie only took one win at the New York Autoring and fell to 26th in the standings, while Riggs Motorsports as a whole struggled with accidents and mechanical failures. Frustrated with the team's performance, and with a merger with M&J looming, Allie decided to venture out on her own to continue competing in the Elite Series.

Team Ownership and Recent Years[edit | edit source]

For 2013, Allie brought her ARLA Truck Series team, Allie Riggs Racing, to the Elite Series; though named for her, the team apparently was largely managed by her boyfriend, Chris Johaanes. After losing her TirADE sponsorship, Allie turned to Bunni's Cosmetics for funding to run the full season, a somewhat surprising decision after Allie's past criticism of Leslie's modeling career. Also joining the team would be Allie's protege and "biggest fan" Stacie St. Martin, competing for the Tornado Alley Trophy, as well as Johaanes, making select starts in the series for the first time in 2011. Allie ultimately finished a respectable 14th in the standings, taking one win on the treacherous dirt track at 70/77 Speedway after Brenda won the first race of the afternoon.

The team returned in 2014 under the new name Allie's Super Sports, but this time Allie struggled with the new muscle car bodies and went winless, with only two top ten finishes. Feeling the stress of team ownership, she decided to join Arnold Pine Racing along with Stacie and her younger brother, Mason St. Martin, and ultimately only competed in four race weekends. In 2016, she made four starts for Bjorn Green Racing, then fielded her own car again for another four in 2017, competing primarily at FARC's dirt tracks and a few other short ovals. After 2017, Allie left FARC to compete full-time in the Voltroxx Mudstars dirt late model series.

In an ironic twist, Allie returned to the Lowe Dollar Series in 2019 to substitute for the suspended Noah Dalitz, the younger brother of her former nemesis. Allie drove the #63 M&J Saar to a twelfth place finish in a one-off appearance at the Roswell Speedway.

Personal life[edit | edit source]

Before leaving FARC, Riggs had a very negative attitude. She was not well-liked by much of her team, her speech was saturated with profanity, and she has even been seen insulting fans on more than one occasion. However, her former sponsor TirADE reportedly enjoyed the publicity generated by her outbursts.

Riggs is currently in a relationship with TM Master Cup driver and M&J Racing co-owner Chris Johaanes. It is believed that this was the main reason behind the strong technical alliance between M&J Racing and Riggs Motorsports, prior to their merger after the 2012 season. Many people have wondered out loud how they could possibly be compatible, as Johaanes' quiet demeanor contrasts Riggs considerably. However, Johaanes does not seem to care about Riggs' behavioral issues.

Her sister (and teammate) Leslie is known to have threatened to walk out on Riggs Motorsports over Allie's behavior at least once; most notably in the aftermath of the 2010 Appleton Speedway Fright Night. Leslie blew her engine after an earlier accident with Allie, and she waited for the race to end before walking up to Allie and punching her once. It is believed that Allie was parked for the rest of 2010 because Leslie threatened to leave the team.

Riggs has seemingly become more humble and mature in recent years, advising her cousin Kerry Fenton to "[not] do what I did" when Fenton was signed by M&J Racing for the 2018 FARC season.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Allie Riggs originated as a Sims character.
  • Her hair is really annoying to draw when she is looking in a direction other than straight ahead or 3/4 right.
