Gene Ric is a former race car driver who now owns a racing team himself.

He is most known for a series of incidents in the 1980s, instigated by his claims of other teams "stealing" various numbers, under which he allegedly planned on entering races.

Ric currently owns the Rumrunner driven by Kayden Kennedy, the son of family friend Kyle Kennedy, on short tracks across California. He traditionally enters a car for Kennedy in the ASCC West Series opening round at the Maxwell Center in Los Angeles.
