Hannah Cordelia Percy is a British Dash Cup driver from Derby, England. She is best known for being the 2014 Dash Cup champion.

Early Career: 2005-2007[edit | edit source]

When Percy entered the motorsports world in 2005, she raced in the National Karting Series, but got off to a slow start as she failed to finish in the top 10 in her first year, however, in 2006, she was picked up by a developmental team for open wheel hopefuls for the Formula Inglesby series called Lumia Racing. She managed to score two victories this year, and finished third in the championship. She was offered a contract to drive in the Formula Inglesby series for Lumia Racing, but she rejected the offer, claiming she wasn't ready for the step up, and so she stayed in the National Karting Series for one more year, scoring five wins and the championship in 2007, again, driving for Lumia Racing. She was offered another contract, and this time, after her championship, she took the offer for 2008.

Lumia Racing: 2008-2009[edit | edit source]

Percy came into Formula Inglesby with a good reputation, topping times for pre-season testing at Oulton Park, however in her debut at Brands Hatch, Percy spun into the wall in turn 5 on lap 1, scoring a DNF. She went on to score a win in 2008, at Silverstone but she also suffered a heavy crash at Nogaro, where she made wheel-to-wheel contact with another competitor, and launched over the car. The car came back to the ground on all four wheels, but Percy quoted "I hope I never do anything like that again. This is why I sometimes would prefer to be in a touring car series." She finished 8th in the final point standings. In 2009, Percy went winless, but scored a stunning 7 2nd place finishes en route to finishing 4th in the final point standings, highly due to her scoring 3 DNF's as well, as well as two other races outside of the points. She still caught the attention of Formula C team Union Jack Racing, a British team based in Milton Keynes, and she tested the car at the race weekend at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and so, she got a contract offer to drive for them in 2010.

Formula C: 2010-2012[edit | edit source]

Percy appeared at the scene of Formula C with minimal stats compared to some of the other competitors around her, however, in her debut, she managed to score a podium, shocking the Formula C world. However, this impressive showing never really amounted to anything at she didn't score another podium for the rest of the season, and finished 10th in the points. In 2011, Percy scored her first Formula C win at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and she went on to score another at Croft. She finished 2nd in points this season, with 3 other podiums, and 6 top 5 finishes. In 2012, she failed to score a podium, and she became well known as one of the most inconsistent drivers in open-wheel history. She finished 11th in points, and she said it was "time to find something new", and she caught the attention of Scuderia Pazzano, a Dash Cup developmental team for 2013.

Dash Cup: 2013[edit | edit source]

In 2013, Percy made the move to Dash Cup from Formula C, driving the #90 for Scuderia Pazzano, apart from at Eurospeedway, where she drove the #84 The ATK Project car before the engine expired on her at half way. At Norisring, Percy drove the #90 to a top 10 at Norisring, and then a top 5 at Vnukovo.

Percy is attempting to make a few TM Master Cup Series starts in the #04 Peak Antifreeze Omecha MA03 for HQS Racing, a team owned by boyfriend Ben Atkins, who is a full time TM Master Cup driver, through the Promoters Option.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Percy is currently dating Ben Atkins, after they met when Atkins was showing her around the Eichholtz Atlantic Racing race shop. When she was in Formula C, her parents protested her involvement in open-wheel racing and this could be one of the main reasons she made the move to Dash Cup, where her father owned a team in 2005, which scored two top 10's with Harold Smith behind the wheel. Her mother is one of the producers at Sky TV, as well, so Percy has had links as far as sponsorship with the company since her Formula C days, and they will be her main sponsor on her Dash Cup car.

Percy currently resides with Atkins in Swansea, Wales. While Atkins is in America for his Master Cup commitments, and Percy has to stay in Europe due to Dash Cup commitments, she lives in the house alone, while Atkins has an apartment in San Diego, California. During the 2013 Dash Cup off-season, Percy went over to America to see Atkins as he finished his ARLA campaign, however. During this time, Percy featured as Atkins' spotter in the Apocalypse Survival Special, which Atkins started on the pole, led laps but then make some controversial moves.

On 6 January 2018, Hannah Percy give birth to her daughter Ruby Felicity Atkins.
