For the current team operated by Tom Delgado, please see Tom Delgado Racing.

MRD Motorsports was a race team formed by Tom Delgado in 2000, getting their start by fielding stock cars in the Northeastern part of the United States.

TM Master Cup[edit | edit source]

MRD Motorsports has competed on and off in TM Master Cup since 2008. They have a best finish of 5th, both coming in 2008. In recent times, they have struggled to be competitive at this level, with Morgan Hamburg finishing a disappointing 13th place in the 2012 Independent's Trophy standings. They are not expected to field an entry at any point during the 2013 season.

TM Lights[edit | edit source]

MRD Motorsports were rumored to be fielding an entry for 2013, but they withdrew it after sponsorship deals fell apart.

ARLA Elite Series[edit | edit source]

MRD Motorsports entered the ARLA Elite Series in 2008, running several races with Tom Delgado, and winning the Twilight 100. They went full time in 2009 with Seiju Dejao and won three times that year. In 2010, they fell back to the pack as Dejao had a disappointing season. For 2011, they signed Joseph Howard & Drew Eisenman to add some veteran leadership to the team, and it paid off with 3 wins in the TDR camp between Howard, Eisenman, and rookie Amy Patti. Patti left after the season to pursue non-racing interests, and the team added Carlo De Pretto in mid-2012 whilst releasing Eisenman due to poor performance. De Pretto would end up rewarding TDR with a win during the Japan tour, as well as very strong performances in the later stages of the 2012 season.

For 2013, the team has scaled back to two full time cars with Howard (#17) & Jim Hayes (#77) running for the Championship. Hayes got his championship campaign off to a good start by winning the 2013 Rookie Shootout and earning 25 points. Carlo De Pretto will run the #37 car in the Tornado Alley Trophy.

Dash Cup[edit | edit source]

MRD Motorsports bought out the assets of Scuderia Perugia in 2012, and signed Verity Logan after she was released from Atlantic Motorsports in mid-season. Logan won the 2nd heat of the Monaco GP. For 2013, the team signed former Dash Cup champion Carla Rosinski to team with Logan, and Harold Smith to be their third driver. Unfortunately, Logan was injured on the Pre-Season tour leading up to the 2013 season, and is out for the year.

National Racing Championship[edit | edit source]

MRD Motorsports fielded Brazilian driver Fernando Matos in the #36 Banco do Brasil Inglesby.
