TM Master Cup Series Driver

Stephanie McGlynn is an Irish racecar driver who competed in the Global Racing League before moving over to the TM Master Cup Series in 2007.

McGlynn is mostly known for being the first openly gay driver to run in the TM Master Cup Series, a fact that was never brought up during the Channel 44 broadcasts.

Career[edit | edit source]

McGlynn's Master Cup career began with TRW Racing in 2007. There, she earned a reputation as somewhat of a crasher despite showing some flashes of speed.

McGlynn drove for Star Motorsports in 2009, and last raced for Ocean Motorsports in 2010. After losing her contract with Ocean Motorsports due to the new 2-car team rule for the TM Master Cup Series, she raced for the Calton-Morel team in the TM Lights in 2011. She is now one of two reserve drivers for the Hodges-Walter Racing team, the other being Alan Hodges who retired from being a full-time driver after the 2011 TM Master Cup season to focus on team ownership.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Whenever McGlynn was running full-time in the TM Master Cup Series, she never failed to qualify even though she spent a good portion of her career outside the top-27 in owner points.
  • McGlynn was one of Cynon's friends' entries, but McGlynn was pulled from the series after the entrant gave her support to Yuliya Nosova instead.
