Jack "Wild Child" Dempsey (born June 19th, 1982 in Canberra, Australia) is a reserve driver for Terra International Motorsports.

He will take over races that Greg Woodard will be unable to attend due to TM Master Cup races. He was supposed to join the TM Lights South Division before the series was reformatted to a single-division series with a limit on driver entries.

Jack's nickname derives from the show The Wild Side which he hosted before its forced cancellation (see below).

The Wild Side[edit | edit source]

Dempsey made his name as host of the Australian wildlife program The Wild Side. Due to several animal rights activists suing the production company that produced the show, citing which forced its cancellation. As a result, he is not too fond of PETA or any other organizations that make their claim to fame by deriding the rights of the human race and treating animals better than said humans.

2012[edit | edit source]

Jack made his debut in the #41 Sticky Hooves Glue Factory Tonare Thunderbolt at Twin Motegi for the 2012 Sarabai 300. He started 31st after the practice and qualifying sessions were rained out. Like fellow driver Ashley Tucker, Dempsey had a very powerful car during the race, to which he was able to pass most of the other cars for a relatively good finish. He was extremely happy with crew's handling the pit stops. He made it all the way up to 4th before falling back shortly before the final caution. He was unable to advance his position due to the race ending under yellow. Team owner Gerald Lamb was relieved that Dempsey's aggression didn't get the best of him as well. Dempsey will be participating for the Rookie of the Year in 2013. His race at Saitama went relatively well, he finished in 12th place. Tokyo wouldn't be the same for him as he was caught up in an accident and fell out right after the start of the race.

Dempsey substituted for Kelly Splison at Memphis due to her being injured at Iowa. Said incident was caused by Woodard hitting a slick spot on the track (that other drivers seem to hit as well), and piled into his teammates. At the New York Autoring, Dempsey was involved in a 4 wide situation by Lawrence Burr where Dempsey made contact with Jarkko Forsstrom and created an incident involving several others. He would be able to continue on and finish off the pace.

Dempsey is due to substitute for Woodard at Talladega but it is unknown if Woodard will make the New York Race. He (Dempsey) is currently on standby.
