2014 FARC season
The 2014 Falkner Auto Racing Championships is the first season of competition for the newly-christened stock car sanctioning body FARC, established after the merger between ARLA and FARCE.
Four touring series will compete under the FARC banner in 2014: the Elite Series Powered by Smash Beer, the LoBo Truck Tour, the Modifieds Presented by Calvert Ignitions, and the DiEmAr Chassis Regional Cup. FARC will also sanction racing at short tracks all over the United States and Canada under the American Short Trackers banner.
Event Calendar[edit | edit source]
The biggest change to the calendar is the introduction of the "Texas Triple Crown", with 500-mile races at Texas World and Fort Worth beginning and ending the season respectively, and an endurance road race at Circuit of the Americas.
The Elite Series' annual Canadian tour returns with a race weekend at Mosport, but the 2013 races that were held in Japan, Mexico, and Russia do not return.
The Rockford 200 was dropped from the calendar after the track promoter reportedly threw his chair across the room during negotiations with FARC executives.

Preseason changes
The series adoptesd muscle cars for this season. The designs were similar in appearance to the cars then being used in the ASCC, but the regulations called for slightly smaller dimensions and a lighter weight. Many teams in the struggling ASCC elected to sell their cars to be refurbished for FARC. 4 different models competed; the Saar Eagle MS, the Inglesby Bolero, the Lenard R37, and the Isanni GTN.
The "engine wars" from 2013 carried over to this season with the introduction of V8 engines, reportedly coming at the request of the manufacturers. V6 and L4 engines were, but the infamous L3 was no longer be allowed to compete.
A new race format was announced for 2014, with most race weekends featuring "50/50 Sprints" followed by a longer feature race. The 50/50 Sprints will be made up of two heat races at a distance of 50 miles on ovals longer than one mile, 50 laps on ovals shorter than one mile, and 50 kilometers on road courses, and the top half of the finishing order from each 50/50 will transfer to the feature. All races continued to pay full points.
Former TM Master Cup Series driver Ryan Matthews used consistency to his advantage, qualifying for more features than any other driver en route to winning his first championship.

Preseason changes
The number 2 division to the FARC Elite Series Powered by Smash Beer, for the first time in its history, carried title sponsorship from convenience store chain LoBo.
The series ran companion races for the Elite Series' Texas Triple Crown events, in addition to several other Elite Series races. The Texas Motor Speedway was the only racetrack that the series visited in 2013 to be retained on the schedule.
Poor management that the series experienced in 2013 had a major impact on the 2014 team roster, as only ten trucks competed for the championship, and the season was dominated by part-time entries run by larger operations. Mike Howard won the championship, after winning the season finale following Jeremy Baker crashing out.

Preseason changes
FARC executives revealed that two different car classes would be present at all Modifieds races in 2014; Crown Mods and Sport Mods. The Sport Mods would compete under the same regulations as the former FARCE modifieds, while the Crown Mods were lighter and significantly faster with much more downforce.
The Crown Mods would be required to compete with V6 engines, while the Sport Mods ran L4s.
SweeneySport swept the inaugural championship titles of both classes, with Ralph West winning the Sport Mods championship and former Elite Series racer Alex Carson winning the Crown Mods championship.

Championship Overview |
Preseason changes
The Regional Cup would be the rechristening of the former ARLA Street Stocks regional championships. FARC introduced a new body style and mandated L4 engines, while making few alterations to the rest of the regulations.
A Midwest tour, entitled the Central division, would join the East and West championships. While all three divisions would support each of the Texas Triple Crown weekends with their own races, there was not any combination races or a national championship event.
